Previously known as Little Star School, the foundation of SIS, Ranchi was laid in 1980 by Mrs. Kabita Das Roy with the sole intention of serving the society. She believed that children were the future and their empowerment would lead to progress.

The school aims at nurturing the innate qualities of the students and transforming them into passionate and competent individuals with leadership qualities. The school is a co-educational English medium Senior Secondary school affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) under All India 10+2 pattern in both science and commerce streams. It is managed by Louis Educational and Social Development Society, a registered body under the Indian Societies Registration Act of 1860.
